James Galley
James Galley is a journalist and producer. Working at Bloomberg, James has produced coverage of breaking and market-moving news.
James has also covered key political and economic stories for international radio and TV, with a focus on Brexit and the UK economy.
I’m James, and I currently work for Bloomberg, where I’ve produced and coordinated live video coverage of breaking and market-moving news. I’ve collaborated with key stakeholders across the newsroom – and beyond – to provide broad, in depth and high quality coverage.
I’ve worked shifts on the TV news desk, researching events, planning coverage, organising camera crews, and producing video for TV output. I’ve also worked in output production, building TV segments into a rundown and outputting the show in the control room.
Over the last eighteen months I’ve specialised in economic and financial news, and I’ve coordinated live video of key market moving events, including speeches by ECB President Draghi, BOE Governor Carney and former Fed Chair Yellen.
As a multi-skilled journalist I have worked across web and multimedia platforms, produced video reports and interviews and reported for audiences across the world. I have a clear, concise and authoritative style, and have the ability to distill and explain information in clear and straightforward ways. I have experience targeting my content to a specialised audience, and a good understanding of what content works best on a variety of different platforms.
I also have reporting experience, a good eye for a story, and a knack for finding the best possible angle. I have covered UK economic and political stories for international TV and radio, and have interviewed senior political figures, including Theresa May. Having studied politics, economics and journalism, I have a very detailed understanding of UK, EU and US politics, and strong economic and financial knowledge.
